Land and Water Double

The 9th Series test will be a Land and Water Double here at the "Middle Lakes" Field. 14 dog/handler teams were called back to start this series.

This field has a gravel road that runs the length of the test on the right side and a field of tall heavy cover on the left forming a narrow cooridor. The mat for this test is facing Northwest on the side of a hill. At the base of this hill there is a large pond that is on-line for both birds.

Bird # 1 is the Long Bird located at 380 yards from the line, slightly to the handlers right. This gun station is throwing a Drake from Right to Left. The guns are located in front of a large bush and they are throwing high across an opening between the bush and the field. The bird lands at the edge of the field near the tall cover. There is a small hidden piece of water the dogs can hit after they get atop the steep hill near the fall area. (LONG RIGHT)

Bird # 2 is a Hen Duck station backed up to the heavy cover on the left side of the field. These gunners shoot and then throw Left to Right with their Hen Duck landing behind a large bush at approximately 165 yards from the mat. (SHORT LEFT)

Test Description - 7th Series

7th Series Test Description

The 7th Series test will be a Land Double with 1 Retired at the "Dam Field." 32 dog/handler teams will start this series.

The 7th Series is Sponsored by the Tulsa Retriever Club

Land Double
The 7th series is a Land Double featuring a Retired Hen Pheasant and a Rooster. We are at the "Dam Field" for this series, located up high on a ridge that is bordered on the right by a large dam and by a tree line on the left. The mat for this test is facing South. From our point of view, the field drops down a terraced steep hill, and at the base of the hill the terrain falls off to the left and then climbs up a steep terraced hill on the far side.

Bird # 1 is the Hen Pheasant. The gunners for this station are located at the top right end of the field, to the handlers Right, past the end of the large land dam. These guns will shoot, then throw the bird Left to Right, with the bird landing approximately 240 yards from the line. This gun station will then retire. The dog has many options to get to the area, but most will lead them away from this memory bird. (RIGHT)

Bird # 2 is a Rooster. The gunners are on the left hillside opposite the mat about 1/2 way up and on the handlers left. These gunners will shoot and then throw Right to Left and the bird will land approximately 180 yards from the line. (LEFT)

This test will take approximately 4-5 minutes per dog to complete.
